Sarah and Ramirez and Deadmice

Sarah and Ramirez with deadmau5 cosplayers at Wizard World Philadelphia 2012

Max and I were joined by Sarah and Ramirez at Wizard World Philadelphia this weekend. We had the honor of sitting at a booth between longtime Spiderman artist, Alex Saviuk,  and creator of hentai manga La Blue Girl, Toshio Maeda, as well as directly across from our good friend, and creator of Zorphbert and Fred, Dawn Griffin. I even bought one of Dawn’s new limited edition Zorphbert and Fred figurines. In fact, I have #2! When they become superrare after there’s like a Zorphbert and Fred movie by Pixar, I’m going to sell it on ebay for a gazillion dollars. It makes me want to get Cosmic Hellcat Action Figures made (but those are expensive, so everyone go and buy tons of our books so maybe we can do that someday). It was great seeing all of them and so many others.

In my attempt to be timely with photos from cons from now on (remember when it used to take me a year to get them put up), here are the photos that we took at the show. Hopefully we’ll get a chance to go back again next year.

If you happen to have any photos of us, or the girls, please send them to us at feedback@cosmichellcats.com and we’ll add them to the site. Hopefully we’ll be returning to Wizard World Philly in the future and we hope to meet more fans at future shows in other places.

Ramirez

Guess what? It’s time for another comic convention. Max and I will be appearing at Wizard World Philadelphia next weekend with along with Sarah and the debuting Ramirez (and maybe Riley, if she can make it… you know, she’s very involved in the Goldie Loxx Affair right now). We’ll be there Friday through Sunday (we’re missing Thursday), selling and signing books and prints. So if you’re in the Philadelphia, PA area, come check us out.

And of course, we’ll be taking pictures and posting them here for everyone to see. You know, whenever I get around to it. I know I’ve been horrible about that. I’ll try to be better this time. Yeah, right…

Convention Sketch: Donna Troy

Well, might as well post the last thing I sketched while I was at Pittsburgh Comicon. This is Donna Troy. I’ve been thinking I should sit down and do a series of sketch cards. Putting a little more care into them than I can when I’m sitting at a convention table. So here’s the question for you. What would be cooler for my first series? Batman characters (I did a whole bunch of Batman sketches at a con a while back. Never posted them here. maybe I should), the Uncanny X-men, Avengers (which I think Max might very well be working on now), Teen Titans, JLA? Or something else? Looking for good ideas here. What do people think? I should totally do a whole sketch car series of like Doom Patrol. Or better yet “People who died in the bar with No Name!” Because drawing stuff that no one else gets is cool!

Oh, and what do you think of Donna here too?

Convention Sketch: Psylocke

What the heck, why don’t I just post some other convention sketches I did at Pittsburgh Comicon here. I mean, they’re just sitting on my hard drive, right?

A group of cosplayers came by while I was drawing and looked over some of the stuff and a girl, dressed as Psylocke, said “too bad you don’t have a print of Psylocke. I’d buy that.” My answer, of course… “I can draw Psylocke.” And so I did. I guess maybe it’s still a little weird that I make prints on the spot. People are used to sketches on paper at cons, but the fact that I do it digitally and print on demand may be a bit weird still.

Anyway, here’s what I ended up doing. Hope you like it.
