We always have a great time at Baltimore Comic Con and this year was no exception. We had a full house this year, as Max and I brought Riley, Delilah and Bliss (who hasn’t even appeared in the comic yet) with us to greet the Baltimore Fans. Besides selling the books, we also had a photobooth set up where I took photos of cosplayers and photoshopped them into different environments (those will be posted later) and that was a big hit. But for now I thought it’d be nice to just share all the photos that we snapped with our cellphones just while wandering around.

If you see yourself or someone we know, then by all means let us know, and if you happened to have snapped a pic of Me, Max or any of the girls at the show then please mail it to use at feedback@cosmichellcats.com.

Hope to see everyone at another show soon. Enjoy the pics.

Baltimore Comic Con 2012

Baltimore Comic Con 2012

I guess now would be as good a time as any to mention Max and I will be set up once again at Baltimore Comic Con this upcoming weekend. As always, we’ll be bringing along some of the real life Hellcats to keep us company in the booth.

We’ll be doing something a little different this time around. There’s always so many people running around these conventions in great cosplay costumes that it gave me an idea. In addition to selling our books, prints of the girls, original sketches, etc., I’ll also be bringing along my photography equipment and we’ll have a photo booth set up. What this means is that if you’re in the Baltimore area, and you come to our booth you’ll be able to pay a professional photographer (namely, me) to get your photo taken and get a print made to show all your friends. Basically, it’s your chance to get a poster of yourself on the cover of a comic book, Just like the ones we use for the photo covers of our books. I’ll be adding special effects, logos, backgrounds. You can even have a Hellcat or two in the picture with you. Whatever crazy stuff you might imagine. A couple samples are below.

And hey, just to make it fun, if you happen to mention the words “Fluffy sent us” just so that I know you’re one of the people who actually read the blogs that appear under comics (I figure there must be what, two or three people in the world, right?) then we’ll even give you a discount. Exciting huh?

So if you’re in the Baltimore area, make sure you come down and see us. This Saturday (September 8th, 10am-7pm) and Sunday (September 9th, 10am-5pm) make sure you come by our booth, say hello, meet us and the girls, buy some comics and get your photo taken.

Hope to see you there.

So if you’ve been checking the site since this weekend, you’ll notice we’ve updated things a bit around here. I hope you like them. The changes aren’t just visual, there’s a few new features and some more that I hope to be rolling out soon.

First, the site is now powered by Comic Easel, a newer comic hosting software package than our old package (Comicpress). Comic Easel allows me a little better sense of customization than the old site did.

The first customization is the new character hovercards. If you look under any comic, you’ll see a list of characters that appear in the comic. Hover your mouse cursor over one and you should get a bio for the character as well as a link to the first and most recent strips they’ve appeared in. This is actually a plugin to Comic Easel that I’m developing personally, so no other site has it yet. But trust me, it’s totally the future.

There are also hovercards now in the comment section for anyone who has a gravatar profile linked to the address that you use to comment here on Hellcats. If you’re not familiar with gravatars, check their website. It’s a good way to personalize your comment avatar across a great many sites on the web, and it’s free.

There are a few other features that are installed and more to come. I’ll be announcing them as soon as I get them all done. In the meantime, please excuse us if something doesn’t work quite right. And if you encounter a bug of some kind, then by all means, write us at feedback@cosmichellcats.com or comment here. And definitely, let us know what you think of the new site as well.

And just because there’s no image that really goes with this post, and to thank you all for being fans, here’s a modeling photo I shot of our own Sarah Prankha a while back in a non-hellcats shoot.  Enjoy!

You know what we haven’t done in forever? We haven’t posted any fan art. Mostly because people haven’t sent any in. But that’s just changed. This pic of Chaste comes to us from Jay Martinez, a recent Hellcat fan. Thanks Jay.

If you’ve got any Hellcat fan art and would like to share it, please email it to us at feedback@cosmichellcats.com, Or contact us via Twitter (@cosmichellcats), Google Plus  or on our Facebook Fan Page. Send it to us and we’ll post it here.

Continuing my X-men series, here’s the last one. Storm. I’m now officially out of convention sketches from Wizard World Philadelphia. I know Max has been doing some free for sketching lately. He even showed me some Katt and Dawg sketches he’d done, so maybe he’ll post an update here soon. And I’ve been meaning to write a blog about some other thought about comics for months now and haven’t gotten to it, but then there was some talk on twitter (@chrismaverick is me, if you’re not following me, you should. And while you’re at it, follow @cosmichellcats) i really want to get to it as soon as possible.

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this sketch. I should do some other X-men soon as well.
